This yet another one of my ever so crazy "complaint threads" much like my "101 reasons why algus needed to die" thread, this one is so that everyone can post how they liked Final Fantasy Tactics more than or equal to Final Fantasy Tactics advance.

Because i'll be honest final fantasy tactics had a much better storyline a lot of better perks. like better classes, monsters in team, and it didn't have any of that law stuff. and to add insult to injury final fantasy tactics advance got much higher ratings and sales. are we gonna stand by here and take that!?1 I know i'm not, and since I refuse to ambush or boycott my favorite game company i'm gathering all those who liked the original better and being perfectly content with that, yay!!1

FFTA wasn't nearly as good. I couldn't tell you why. FFTA just wasn't as cool. It wasn't bad, but not nearly as good. FFT is my favorite game, so I expected a lot out of FFTA.

I just started playing FFTA for the first time, and I'm about 20 hrs. into my first game. So I won't say anything too critical about it yet. :rolleyes2 (yearight)
I don't much care for FFTA's juvenile storyline, FFT was so much more sinister. FFT made me say "Whooaah, no way!" :whaaa: , or "You Bastard, I'm gonna mess you up!" ; with FFTA I say "mmmm...whatever...stop gabbin' and let's fight."
I HATE :frust: having to equip a certain (often expensive$$$) weapon in order to learn each attack skill or spell in FFTA, and you have to fight a number of battles with said weapon in order to 'master' the skill attached to the weapon, and thus finally be able to use it without equiping the weapon. Then you can pass that weapon to another character and spend forever teaching him/her its skill. FFT's skill learning is so simple in contrast; just keep making successful actions and you'll earn plenty of j.p. and be able to get all the skills you want, no weapon purchase necessary!
I think FFTA has more character classes available, and some are very cool looking and powerful too. But it sucks that races (tribes) are restricted to a handfull of classes each. In FFT, Squire is the only class that is subject to change; oh, and women can be dancers and men become bards. But if I want my main character to be a summoner/calculator :fpsun: on odd numbered days, a singing Lancer :fpdev: on even ones, and a ninja/thief :fpninja: every second Sunday... then dammit I just make it so.
In FFT, I really enjoy meeting new characters, because they often join the party and bring killer skills and weapons with them. :shoot: But in FFTA a lot of losers with no skills and not even any equipment want to join my 'clan'. Piss off, ya muppets! ( I hear that I won't even get any "secret" unique characters until after I finish the game! WTF you say?! )
    FFT rules, FFTA drools.

    ....what he said...

But honestly, I never played FFTA cause I dont have a GBA and dont really care. I read the strategy guide to see how the gameplay worked, and i seriously thought it was of the homosexual orientation, cause we all have to be politically correct now-a-days....

    just read my sig....

I missed the CT, it took away a major element of strategy.

FFTA is an insult to FFT. Don't get me wrong, I actually kinda of like FFTA, But FFT is one of the greatest games I've ever played. FFTA is terrible in comparision. Most of my complaints were mentioned earlier, childish storyline, annoying skill system, classes only certain races can have, and of course, the laws. Actually, one of my worst Gameboy memories of all time took place because of those laws. I was in the final battle with Remedi, and I had Marche come behind her and kill her. I jumped up and started dancing around, and then suddenly I look at the screen and Marche GETS A RED CARD!!!! I kill the last boss, but then I go to jail and it acts as if I didn't win. WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? So I'm still upset about that.

the only reason this did so well in sales was because it was the sequal to one of the greatest games of all time. This game didnt even seem like FFT to me the attacks and equipment screen look oddly like that from tactics ogre which is ok it didnt realy bother me but WTF is with the whole judges thing the ppl of this new ivalince are nothing but a bunch of pansies if the some one would have been changeing the laws of FFTs ivalince there would have been riots and wars but whats FFTAs answere? the anti law card im not even gunna touch the job and learning system of FFTA im just gunna say its retarded. they idiot proofd the turn order ( SE aparently thinks we cant tell who will go next a guy with a ct of 93 or a guy with a ct of 37) I found this entire game a insult to my inteligence my 5 year old cousin even says this game is babyish SE needs to make a good sequal to a game till theres proof they can I want them to stay as far from FFVII as they can lest the butcher that like they did X and FFT

FFT had a better story and everything. Tho only think I liked in FFTA was the various races, not the fact cetain races couldn't do certain jobs, but the fact you could have different races. Moogles rule! Kupo!

FFTA and x-2 are the proof that Square has been going down the toilet . The main reason I hate Tactics repressed (I refuse to call it "advance") are that they took a great story and replaced it with a shallow, childish narrative more akin to daytime disney TV then the war epic that I'm used to. Also of course, the gameplay flaws, the pastel graphics, and the lack of good music.

The first one was much better, but TA still had its strong points.

    i've never played X-2, though.

But I HATE FFT-A. Not like I hate FFVIII. I hate FFVIII because it was a dissapointment, after FFVI and VII. But FFT-A is a piece of crap on its own. It stinks. Idiot plot, idiot classes, idiot characters. Marche is arguably the WORST lead character EVER. Not even Squall is THAT bad. And Bishop, Sage and Alchemist are an insult to FF.

Bishop stole the ONLY offensive magic from White Mages. They are hopeless now.
Alchemist and Sage stole Water, Flare, Death and such from Black Mages. Their best offense now is Blizzaga/Firaga/Thundaga. And this is BAD.
Paladins are a piece of crap. They had decent white magic, now they have... Nurse. x.x'
Assassins are overpowered pieces of crap.
Summoners restrcted to Vieras suck. And the summons. Aside Shiva (Shiva is beautiful in T-A <3), they are fugly. And they kicked Leviathan and Bahamut (UNFORGIVABLE!!!1111oneoneone), they underpowered Phoenix, Unicorn makes White Mages obsolete... etc.
Elementalist is a good class, with decent skills. But again, restricted to those damn Vieras. Seriously, Marche + 5 Vieras is the only team you need, because Vieras are overpowered. Marche can be the Black Mage Vieras can't be (not like you need Black Magic, with Elementalists and Summoners running around), and you're set.

    And Tactics... <3
