They aged. It hadnt been that long, and people dont change physically that quickly once they've reached a certain age. A seven year old would look different in two years, but a twenty year old probably wouldnt.

As for the change, I liked it. I liked the way they were, and the way they became. It showed excellent character development. CaptRory put it perfectly.
