In all honesty, I really doubt that Square was meaning to make it look like TIfa and Cloud had a baby. It is probably more of a throwback to Final Fantasy VII. Just like in Final Fantasy IX, at the end when they are performing the play and one of the chartacters says something like "Neither Cloud nor Squall can keep us apart." He is referring to clouds and squall (storms) but it is coincidentally the names of the previous two main characters. It is just Square's way of payig homage to the previous installments.
