They're not bad, though I do know that when I first heard Chop Suey, I knew I heard another band sound just like them. Oh, I remember now... Faith No More released "King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime" that featured the group performing songs with similar riffs and the singer doing vocals that are extremely close to what Serj does. Original, Indeed.

I've only heard "BYOB" on the radio. It's not bad. I'd download some stuff from the new record If I just had the time.

I love them, and I saw them live at Donington Park two weeks ago. Their albums are great but live, on this occasion they didn't put on a performance really, they just played and left adbruptly, no "This is our last song" or "Hello guys", it seemed by numbers.
But perhaps that's the mistique of the band, is that their music does all the talking they feel or indeed want to do.

I have a question related to SoaD. Why do a lot of the older fans dislike BYOB? I've been a huge fan for a while, I've heard almost every song by them, and I loved it. Is it because it's really their first political song on the radio? I dunno.

I think because other people, like myself, are getting tired of 'Why do they always send the poor?', largely because... well, they send the army. Just like every other nation in history has; been a long time since there've been any warrior kings around.

Also because it's not a very innovative or interesting song.

SoaD are okay, I love their first album they done, I think it's the best out of the lot. Then perhaps secondly I like Toxicity.. But I can't say much about Steal this Album!, 'cause I've ony heard all of the tracks on it once & I can't really remember what they sound like. But yeah, I like them, good to have a good headbang to, but not too much.

I generally dig them - they've got a great collection of songs going. Only thing that's gradually beginning to annoy me is that there seems to be this kind of formula they employ in most of their songs, and I find it really noticable. Apart from that, thumbs up all round.

They used to irritate me but I've found their songs growing on me and I can't stop it!
I really do like BYOB its a great song, Daron has a great voice and its just so damn catchy.

The only problem with BYOB is one of the lyrics: 'why don't princes fight the war, why do we always send the poor' because princes and kings DO fight wars, our very own prince Harry has joined one part of the british army and theres rumours that prince William will as well.
and people get paid to serve the army right?
oh and in the world wars conscription was introduced so EVERYONE who was fit and of the right age had to go, no matter how rich or poor!

And also America doesnt have a royal family therefore no princes (am I right in thinking theyr american? because I might be wrong there .. )

BYOB isn't the best they've ever done, and it's rather weak compared to their other stuff. I just don't enjoy it compared to their other songs like Cigaro and Violent Pornography on their Mezmerize album.
Still, tht song does make an impresive mosh pit.

i love them because they arnt easy on the ears, which means that freaking zombie little teenagers cant play it over and over and over again. I also love the way they actually back up what they say. in the covers of their cd's they talk about using recycled paper and i loved their commitment to Axis of Justice with rage/audioslave. they are really awesome, i get to see them with bad acid trip and the mars volta a week before my 18th bday. bitchin

As if the teenagers who listen to SoaD aren't zombies. We're all freaking
zombies. Some of us are just too far gone to realize it. It's like Socrates
said about his own wisdom, he was wise because he knew only one thing,
    that he knew nothing.

    Sort of.
