Well owning a gun and taking the gun wherever you wish are different things. When someone keeps the gun at home then its pretty much under most precautions to be fine. But should someone just tout it wherever they wish then its a problem because anyone and everyone can own a gun and bad thing smight happen. Hence why there are control laws that keep the gun safe in your home for protection only. The only place where i can fathom taking your gun to is the range to practice.

its true. you get desensitized to frequintly it is allowed. what you think is wrong today, may seem like normal a few years from now.
The point is people that are going to have a gun to shoot you will eventually shoot you anyway guns legalized or not. So its good to have one for countermeasures. Looking at weapons, knives are WAY more dangerious than guns. You can easily and unsuspiciously walk up to someone and stab them somewhere. Not the arm but somewhere like organs in your stomach or your backside easily casuing death fast and much more deadlier than the gun could.

the majority of people destined to be shot will never own a gun in their lives. what good is legalizing them for protection when the people who need protecting woulnt buy them anyways because they feel they are to dangerous.

a large portion of people shot are shot on accident. if you allow more people to own guns, their are more chances for such accidents to occur.
why do we have so many self defense courses, and defensive weapons. their should never be a need to use them.
if you allow the public to have guns you are consenting murder, murder that could have been avoided. and its true some people will find a way to get guns back, but that is a small percentage of the people who would actully use them.
so lets say we just give rhem to good law abiding citizens, whats stopping those people from using them, or selling them to "Lower class citezens"
you woulnt stop all violance by getting rid of guns, but you could stop a large portion of it.
