ur thinking of SARA
they just took the a and made an o to make it look cooler
(if sora means sky than why didnt they name him Skye?)
Becuas ethe people who named him were japanese.Originally Posted by GunbladeMaster

you know what?.......guess first.
I believe it's a unisex name in Japan. And if it's not unisex, it's not stopping them from using it as one. Sometimes anime likes to give male characters female names, not that surpising video games would do it, but I think Sora would probably be a boy's name if it's not unisex, it seems more common to name boys that.
Sora is for girls and guys. 'Cause there's
Sora from Escaflowne-Girl
Sora from Digimon-Girl
Sora from .Hack-Boy
Sora from Kingdom Hearts-Boy

when my sister first saw the tralier thing for Kingdom Hearts, when Sora floats down in the water, she swore he was a girl! i mostly bought the game just to shove it in her face and go "ha! shes a he!! told you so!"!
Yep, yep, * White Aeris * is back : D♥ ♥ Beautiful Signature by Polaris ♥ ♥♥ ♥ Thank you muchly for not one, but two signatures ~<3
they shoulda named him
Sor\Zor
thats way cooler
How interesting. In Kingdom Hearts, Kairi is a girl, but in the STREET FIGHTER EX series of games, Kairi is a man.
Welcome to the world of unisex names. Thousands exist in the world. Especially in Japan where one word can have many meanings.
Also, there's the Japanese use of English names, which can make them different due to pronunciation (Kiley pronouned by a Japanese person would sound like Kairi, etc).
Anyway, Sora, Riku, and Kairi have complimentary names. Sora means Sky, Riku means Shore, and Kairi refers to a Nautical Mile so it references the Sea. Sky, Shore, and Sea.
Wow. Even MORE interesting.
