    Default Oh no!

Oh no! My trash appears to be full, and when I click it open, nothing is there. When I click "delete trash" it says "Want to delete WINDOWS?" Wtf? I didn't say yes. And it won't let me restore files. Is this the work of a virus? Help me!

This is urgent, help me please. I'm running Nortan AntiVirus right now, but it's slow as usual.

What was I doing before that happened to me, last week?
In anycase, restarting fixed it. @_@

The virus scan showed nothing, then I restarted, and it worked! You were right! Thank goodness. I'm just hoping it was some random thing and not a virus.

EDIT: Does anyone have an idea what it could have been?

It depends on what version of Windows you're running, but I remember 98 would get all hitchy when I ran it for too long.

It's a bug in Windows. It usually happens when you try to empty the Recycle Bin while a file or directory is in use by a service or program. Once the file or directory becomes unused by the service or program, Windows will empty the contents of the Recycle Bin while leaving the full Recycle Bin icon. When you try to empty the Recycle Bin again Windows doesn't find anything so it'll ask you to delete the root directory, this being WINDOWS. However, if you notice, there are 0 bytes worth of information and no WINDOWS directory in the Recycle Bin. Nothing happens if you empty the Recycle Bin. Also, a user logoff and then login will refresh the Recycle Bin icon.

Oh, thanks Yamaneko! I feel much better now. That's exactly what happened, I was trying to delete a video I made on my digital camera and I didn't realise it was paused in WMP.
