Level of political involvement
How involved are you guys with your local/state/national political parties? I'd have to say zero on all counts except matters concerning scientific progress - our college's president sits on the National Science Board, so we get to provide our regular input to our president as to how he should advise the U.S.'s president. It doesn't seem to be doing much in the way of stem cell funding, though. :\
at the moment, I'm not involved in anything of significance, but once I stop moving around late this August I'll probably start doing something with the local chapter of the Democratic Party.
I'm still debating how much I want to get involved. When I go to college in the fall, I'll see.
Aggreed.. though I am leaning slightly more to less involvement... don't like politics too much... on the national lvl it is just a circus as of late(borrowing term from that other thread.. it fits). But if I don't get involved then I can't hope to change it from it's current course.. but putting up with it may be beyond me.Originally Posted by Hachifusa

I'm going to be the president of the school Political Affairs Club next year. The club is dedicated to presenting as many sides of an argument as there are. I'm going to be working to bring the other three political clubs on campus (Republicans, Democrats, and Socialists) together in the debates that we hold weekly. We are also looking into inviting state politicians for our meetings, on a "show up if you can" basis. We've brought some on campus before, and we look to do it again, and perhaps even have them speak at some of the events we host.
You need a Libertarian club.
