Also (that thread doesn't say this), you can kill an Adamantoise for a 4-slot armor. It's simplier than it sounds. Capture an Adamantoise. Then go to the monster arena and kill it repeatedly. You can get a lot of 4-slot armor very quickly, and if you get too much for one character, you can sell them for quite a bit of gil. You can also do this with a Black Element, but an Adamantoise seems to do it more often.

if you dont wanna have to fight ne one, you can get empty four slot armor and weapons from Wantz, the brother of Oaka... you can find him at the entrance to Macalania forest (just after thunder plains). i think he appears there only after you have been to the highbridge, but im not sure...

the other thing is, the armor and weapons he sells cost 100 000 gil each, but if money is not an issue, then it is the easiest way to get all the four slot armor you need!!
