First off, a lot of countries have a lot of things I don't agree with, either.

Conscription is saying that your life is owned by the state in every sense of the term. It's one of the few times that this statement is literal. Not to mention that the war is waged by the state.

It's why I don't care that "my country needs me!" At the moment, I don't believe that what my country is doing in Iraq is right. I don't believe that the government (which is, once again, nothing more than a group of individuals, so perhaps "mob" would best be used in this sense) has the right to push me into fighting for them.
