I watched it. It was beautiful. I'm jealous of the Hyde Park people too! OMG OMG I would've given ANYTHING to be there. xD It probably won't work....most of the stars were there from sheer human hypocrisy and an urge to look good.

But heck...no one can say we didn't try.

I hate it when people say that these musicians and stars are being hypocritical or that this whole thing is a useless attempt. At least they're doing something. It might not work but at least they're trying. How does that make them hypocritical? They might not be solving the problem directly, but they're donating their time and talent to a worthy cause when they really don't have to.

And I really do believe that these concerts are doing something good.

I believe they're doing some good too; and I appreciate the fact that they are. But I think that when people go up and talk about donating and all, when they really don't do it themselves is hypocritical. And like someone told me tonight; humans are apathetic. The majority of us will be all touched and willing to help tonight, while it's on. But once we turn off our TV sets, and get a good nights sleep, we'll forget all about it tomorrow. That's hypocritical, in a sense.

It's just the way we are, I guess? But it is true for the majority. I'm not saying that this doesn't do any good; I'm so glad they have done it and I know it was fantastic of them all to do it. But I won't deny that I do think that some of the stars are only doing it to look good: "Oh! Charity work! Wahoo! Excellent publicity for me~ I'm soooo good! Everyone will love me!"

And the whole thing isn't a useless attempt. It's just the start though. Not the finishing; and there's heck of a lot more to be done.

Did you read the entire article? After finding out about the unethical practices, the Organizations who bought the wristbands worked with the factories to improve their work conditions.

Under the Ethical Trading Initiative standards when we find out a supplier isn’t in line with those standards we don’t just pull away. We attempt to engage with the supplier and work with that supplier to improve conditions so they are in line with the Ethical Trading Initiative standards.

By engaging with the supplier, the supplier has an incentive to improve conditions so the end result is better than if we had pulled away.
Yeah, that's really hypocritical of them.

Went to the show in Barrie, Ontario...it had it's good times but I would have prefered a more younger venue, but it was good. When I got home around 10 I started BTing all the acts I could (espcially Floyd) and they were all amazing! I can't wait for the box set to come out, cause almost every act rocked (minus one in Tokyo involving an icelandic person :P).

Seems to me like it'd make a lot more sense to check out the people you're buying stuff from before you do it, if you care, but whatever helps 'em sleep at night.
