I am bumping this thread big time, but I wanted to post on it.

The coolest mascot would probably have to be the mascot for the Utah Jazz (NBA). He does insanely awesome stunts, and on a college level, I think that BYU's mascot, Cosmo the Cougar, does cool stunts too. I am not basing these opinions on mascot originality, but on what stuff they do.

The worst school mascot would have to be the Santa Cruz banana slugs. It is a High School in California, if I recall correctly. There may be a little history behind that, but I doubt it.

But school mascots made my high school days for me. I loved my mascot. He was a Don, like Zorro. Not the coolest mascot in the world, but unique, and he encouraged school spirit.
