Wow. With the exception of Interview Woth the Vampire (I haven't read it yet) I agree with everything stated above. I love LotR, but all the books, especially The Two Towers, took forever. I think I took almost a year to read that, which is totally nuts.

Oh, and Spindle's End, by Robin McKinley. Took forever to get anywhere. Anywhere interesting.
