to jail or not to jail? that is the question.

i was wondering the other day. alot of nutters are in jail. iain huntely for example. raped and murdered two little girls. no real reason to do it. he was justa bit of a nutter. so why jail him? he is obviously insane as killing and raping two girls is hardly a sane thing to do. and if he's crazy shouldn't he be in a criminally insane ward? we did that with sutcliffe and braidy.

shouldn't we be putting these nutters in broadmoor rather than jail? just and idea.

The goal of any prision should be to change people and make them acceptable in society. I think everyone should go to regular jail at first and then during say a two month stay they are indeed determined to be unstable then send them to a mental institution. If not then they should be just the same as any other place.
