Quite obviously, Phoenix - it revives all your characters and does a whole bunch of damage!

Ark is awesome, especially if you have auto-regen equipped.

my favorite is Odin with the Odin's sword ability equiped.

Ramuh. 22 MP, and with 99 Peridots (VERY EASY to get) it does a LOT of damage.

But Bahamut deals 9999 very easily, as well.

FFIX was interesting for me, cuz i didnt' understand the summoning system until about a year after i beat the game :rolleyes2

the whole time i didn't have any summons, but i managed without it. but if id have to choose, id say bahamut, just cuz bahamut's hella cool

I'd have to say Phoenix! Not that I use it alot but the Rebirth Flame saved my butt loads of times! And looking COOL at the same time!

Alexander is my favorite Eidolon. Too bad you never get a chance to summon it (him?). Other than that, Bahamut and Shiva, I guess. Bahamut generally does more damage, but it's easier to power Shiva up by getting more of the gems that enhance her Diamond Dust, so since Memoria has lots of enemies weak to Ice, I could do 9999 damage with Shiva in Memoria a lot before Bahamut could reach 9999.

Eiko summons Phoenix for me. Other than that, I rarely use summons. This is despite the fact that I have two summoners in my party all the time.
