I noticed this today. But I was told by a friend of mine there IS a reason why she's not there and I don't want to spoil it.
I also noticed one thing that people seem not to notice: since (SPOILER)Shinra is destroyed in the end of FF VII, in Japanese magazines the're not referred as the Turks, but the EX- Turks. So why are they still wearing ecactly the same uniform they had before?

It's a RPG world, they CAN'T buy new clothes. It would upset the balance causing the complete collapse in the fabric of space time. For any person to change their clothes for more than a couple of hours on a special occasion has that affect in the world of RPG. I thought every one knew that.

Their uniform in FFVII was blue, but in AC, they're wearing black. See? Completely different.

Also, Elena might not be in the movie because she could be on some top secret mission by Rufus! Perhaps the movie will clear it up, we just have to wait till September 14th to find out.

Yeah, Tseng got jousted by a masamune blade and died at the Temple's lift. Maybe Elena fell off the sister ray when her and Tifa had a scrap on it??? who knows..
