this is all very good for the english. yet the english aren't going to solely pay for it. scottish, welsh (but they get the football) and irish money goes into it. and who it helps? it helps people who can afford to buy a ticket and londoners (again) if anyone hs noticed london is not the centre of the uk. it's right down near the bottom. plenty of miles away from alot of the population who will be paying for it. and with new road tax thingy it will cost £100 or over just to drive down from up here. is that fair? i pay for it. it's nowhere near me. does hee haw for my country. is based purely on needs of the south of england and the rich enough to see it.

it would have been nice to hld it somewhere else other than london. somewhere more central. not in london. (like the dome, eye, bridge, major museums and galleries, stadiums etc), where we can all use it.

Considering that Scotland is one of the poorest areas of the UK, and the south of England the richest, I think it's safe to say a LOT more English money will go into the Olympics than Scottish money.

And judging from the fact that generally England is a lot richer than Scotland, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of English taxes go into Scotland and its services, projects, etc. anyway.

actually not true. cos we have the north sea oil you see. and the english have a nasty habit of stealing the tax from it for their own purposes. and yes alot of english money does go up here, how about faslane? the g8? the ghost ships? when england doesn't want something it gets shoved up here. so yep alot of english tax money going into stuff w never wanted anyway. like the nukes, the riots of the g8, those nasty ghost ships you now what to ship up here, and that lovely nuclear waste which costs alot of money to keep out of the water.

Let's get back on topic, we don't want a England vs Scotland debate (if you do, make a new thread).

the blasts in london todday serve to highlight what needs to be done if they were already not associated with the win.

it will be a great confidence shcok for all involved or planning to go.

Please, I doubt that terrorists had bombs planted in every candidate city.
And if they were planning to set off a bomb during the Olympics setting one off the day after its been announced would be a very bad idea.

    Its probably just a Coincidence.

Besides it will do a great deal of good to the city and I doubt that any money spent on it will affect you in any way.
