Captain Malcolm Reynolds is a hardened veteran on the losing side of a galactic civil war, who now ekes out a living pulling off small crimes and transport-for-hire aboard his ship, Serenity. He leads a small, eclectic crew who are the closest thing he has left to family - squabbling, insubordinate and undyingly loyal. Mal takes on two new passengers-a young doctor and his unstable, telepathic sister, and gets much more than he bargained for. The pair are fugitives from the coalition dominating the universe, who will stop at nothing to reclaim the telepathic sister.

I'm a half-assed brown coat. I was only able to catch the first five or so episodes of the series before I lost TV, but I'm hardcore all things Joss Whedon. Can't wait for the movie, and will be getting the TV DVDs as soon as I get a hold of some extra money. Glad Joss is finally making his directorial breakthrough. Hopefully the movie biz treats him better than network television did.

I loved the Firefly series. I was a big fan of the Buffy and Angel shows, and I fell in love with Firefly when I picked it up. I saw Serenity the day it came out, and I'd say it's probably one of the best Sci-fi movies EVER.
