I'm having trouble... clicking on things.
I seem to be having trouble clicking on things. Sometimes, I won't be able to click on anything, but my mouse moves. In order for me to be able to click on something, I have to use alt+tab and bring up another window, and then close it. Then I can click on things for a while longer. It seems to happen whenever I switch from one thing to another (ie, EoFF, Instant messanger, folder, etc.) Why is it doing this, and how can I fix it? It's really getting irritating.

Does it happen when you switch by clicking or alt-tabbing?

Could be a dying mouse, but from what you're saying, it sounds more like a software problem. I'd imagine it's a messed up mouse driver.

It's hard for me to describe it, but whenever I can't click on things the screen that I am trying to utilize "looks" as if it were "behind" something else, in a sense. However, it is not. Does that make any sense?

As if there was some sort of invisible window in front? All I can see is that either something in windows is preventing windows from grabbing the mouse input (xp crapping itself, some virus/spyware maybe), or your mouse is getting defective. If you can, try another mouse to see if it works. If not, when the mouse click stops working, what does right clicking do?
And then there is Death

I cannot seem to right click.

I ran my spyware thing and it got rid of everything it found. (There were six of them). My virus detector has not informed me of any viruses that have made it onto my computer. I don't know how to execute a system scan with it though.

What virus thinger are you using?

Same problem here, it's just my mouse though, as my left clicker works fine, and my computer is clean. I blame it being a wireless mouse. I can still click, but it sometimes is a little hard. Ah well.
