Just to make sure, did you mean the room before, with the big tree where you scan the runes, or the actual room where you get it where you have to scan runes in order to open up the door blocking the way to it?
In Metroid Prime, which beam, assuming you have all of them at the time of fighting it, is Thardus weak to?

Ice beam bounces off of him, Wave Beam is inherently weaker than Power Beam (which would just be normal damage)... am I missing something?
Oh and there are 3 remixed tunes (unless you count the whir of the elevator room as music):
-Tallon Overworld is a remix of the original Metroid Brinstar music.
-Magmoor Caverns is a remix of Super Metroid's Lower Norfair (Ridley's Lair) music.
-Lower Torvus is a remix of Lower Brinstar in Super Metroid.
He's weak to nothing.
You can get the plasma beam ahead of time, but he has no inherent weakness to it as it wasn't programmed in, since Retro assumed nobody would have the Plasma Beam before then~

And Lower Torvus is most definitely a remix of the music from the Crashed Frigate.
