    Not really.

Dark Beam + Safe Crystal = Pif, Safe Zone dies.
Light Beam + Safe Crystal = Womph, Safe Zone is powered up and all Ing who touch it go PUFFT into dark dust.
Annihilator Beam + Safe Crystal = Bamph, Safe Zone is super-charged and draws in nearby Ing who also just go PUFFT when they hit it.

I didn't know what the last beam did as I stopped using those by that point in the game.

Nah, they work in similar ways.

The Dark Beam is akin to the Ice Beam, it freezes 'troids in the same way, it's relatively slow firing.

The Light Beam is akin to the Plasma Beam, fast firing and powerful, sets creatures on fire, but has a relatively short range.

The Annihilator Beam is akin to the Wave Beam, but not by much, it homes in, does insane damage and is generally booty kicking.

These are limited in usage by an ammo system, but it's not that bad, you just have to conserve your ammo like you would with missiles, which really isn't that much at all.

The charge combos are totally different though.

The Dark Beam creates a slow moving black hole that sucks in all around it.

The Light Beam creates a slow moving massive energy ball of light which causes huge damage to anything it hits, especially Dark enemies.

The Annihilator Beam causes a massive Sonic Boom which instantly hits and massively damages anything it targets.

Just the charge combos take both missiles AND ammo, which can be a bit of a killer, especially with the Annihilator.

Wow, that's really cool. Except that it costs ammo.

A lot of people were afraid of the ammo system, but it's really not a problem, only in extended boss battles can you even get close to running out, and even then it's only if you go very trigger happy and waste a lot.

You get 250 ammo total (after expansions), each shot takes 1 of a type, and charge shots take 10, as long as you don't spam fire you'll be fine.

Q: Out of Zebes, SR388, and Tallon IV, which two planets are in the same solar system?

I would go with Zebes and SR388 but I am probably wrong.
