File>Save for web and switch it to jpeg and have the quality around 80 or 60 when saving things. You should easily be able to stay under the file size limit with that. Also, try making the sigs a bit smaller so you don't have to worry about exceeding height and width limits.

Also: Click on your User CP and go to <i>Edit Signature</i>. The limits are clearly posted right there above the sig field. Can't miss it really.
Please watch your limits as you make your sigs. They are very good so it's quite a waste for me to have to delete them.i think part of the problem is this forums so bloody big
the thing is, it says the maximum sig size is 250x550 and my sig is 223x550 its not over the limit but on the limit, is this still to big tho

You must also watch out for the kb size. You can check that by right clicking on the image and going to Properties. Our limit here is 50 kbs so that dial-up users don't have as great a load-time.
To check on the sig size that has text along with the image: print screen, paste into Paint Shop or some other program, crop the sig and then check the image information.

Never mind, because I just looked for images and I can't find one anywhere. The site that has them is going under "refurbishment" or something like that. When the site becomes available again I will post some images.
