Getfirefox.com and the plethora of IT articles and product reviews praising Firefox over Internet Explorer would do a better job of answering this question than I could, but let me list a few things.Originally Posted by Xaven
- Security. That, and I get virtually no pop-ups anymore. Not only does IE have more holes than swiss cheese in comparison to its competition, but Firefox blocks spyware-related pop-ups without the need of a third party (and inefficient) pop-up blocker.
- Tabbed browsing (without the need of a third-party add-on). Once I became familiar with it, I don't know how I could have lived without it. CTRL+T and clicking on links with the scrollwheel button became my new friends real fast. Opening up new tabs saves yourself a lot of space on the taskbar.
- Themes and Extensions. When you do become tired of the look of your browser, download a new theme. In addition, you can customize your browser using a multitude of extensions (read: add-ons) to make your browsing experience as fun as pie.
