you get him to ovedrive mode and sumon him in battle (i suggest just giving him 1 gill and if he doesnt do zanmato try again) ( oh and make sure you get as reward an armour with or ribbon or hp break limmit preferably both if not try again)

Heh... Yojimbo is, IMO, one of the most complex parts of the game... check out this FAQ on how to make him do Zanamato (which will kill any enemy): http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/f..._x_yojimbo.txt
If you haven't been doing what the FAQ says, then I suggest you try either A) paying him all your money/millions or B) start to follow the FAQ and hope you can get his motivation high enough.

It is yojimbo and he is a gil eater. I like having so much gil that I don't have to worry about anything.

first make it so yojimbo does a lot of damage and likes you a lot by paying him loads then go into the dark aeon battle and pay him lik 50000gil it works every time "unless your overdrive bar is completely empty.)also you dont need his overdrive full to use zanmato.
