I'm pointing out the reason I do not think the printing press is man's greatest invention.

The fact that it was in existance, yet unusable shows that.
However, without it, mankind would not have been able to advance this far. Knowlege and information would not have been able to spread though books and literature. Even most historians, and those type of people agree that the printing press was the most important invention in (Modern? What's the word I'm looking for?) [something] history.
