Give me a sample of a fight scene. Take two of the characters you see in my Fantasy Grand Tournament (linked in my signature) and write a fight between them, it can be as long as you feel necessary and I encourage you to use your own style. If you want some clarification on abilities before you write it, feel free to PM me and request it before submitting the application.
I will be picking between two and four writers. If you submit an application for this, bear in mind that you will never be able to bet on any of the fights, nor will you be permitted to vote for characters (except in some cases that I will explain when I've picked the writers). You will also be part of a group PM mailing list where we go back and forth.
I am not going to allow any of the writers to start until the next tournament, but they will have imput in this tournament. There is no deadline, but I'm not going to wait on applications, if I see four that I like I'll take them and that will be the end of it. Get writing.

The first match of the Square Enix Grand Tournament will be posted around midnight on the 22nd of July. Everyone has 5,000 gil to spend, I am accepting bets for the first fight, Vincent vs. Erdick. This money is a seperate account from the money people have in the Fantasy Grand Tournament I am also running, but the two accounts will merge after this one and will be combined from there on out. Also, every new tournament will grant all people 2,500 on top of whatever they already have, so you aren't TOTALLY screwed if you lose all your money, although betting wisely is advised.

I'm unfamiliar with FFXI. Is there any job a Mithra is better at so that FFXI stands a better chance?
