I want to establish that this farce er... fight was not my idea. I would NOT have picked the Joker to represent DQIII, but, I shall go with the vote.
The gates opened once again, admitting a rather fat-looking man in a clown suit with a painted face and bright, polka-dotted and frilly clothing and a man dressed in armor that resembled a dragon, carrying a spear in his left hand and a shield in his right.
"The next match is between the Joker and the Dragoon Captain of Baron, Kain!" the announcer shouted as both combatants stepped up to the line.
"BEGIN!"
The Joker giggled and danced around Kain, singing a rather bawdy song.
"Hey!" Kain said. "Stop that! We're supposed to be fighting!"
The Joker stuck his tongue out at Kain and flipped him a rude gesture. Kain did not look amused.
"Stop that! Stand and fight me!" he growled.
The Joker giggled and mooned Kain, before skipping around him and singing a silly child's song.
"All right, that's it," Kain said, sticking out the haft of his spear. The Joker tripped, falling face-first into the ground.
Kain then proceeded to beat the Joker mercilessly with the staff of his spear.
"I'll... teach... you... to... not... take... me... seriously!" he said through grit teeth as he bludgeoned the Joker into unconciousness. After he was sure the Joker was thoroughly thrashed, he kicked it in the butt once more for good measure and walked off, muttering curses under his breath.

Well for more info on Joker (I voted him as a joke), he starts out as probably the weakest initial class, but if you can bother letting him be a burden in your party long enough, he'll be able to change into the most powerful classes (which names are drawing a blank at the moment).

For those interested there is still one more writer position open.
The doors opened once more, admitting a Ninja dressed in a black black gi and a blonde woman bearing a staff. The Ninja's face was masked, and only his eyes could be seen. At his feet was a black and brown dog that snarled viciously. In the Ninja's hands, he held two short swords, and the bulk on his clothing showed that he bore many other weapons as well.
The woman wore an orange cape, light orange skirt, and green top. Her blonde hair was fairly short and combed over in a large wave, and her staff was bulbous on the end.
"The next fight is between Shadow and Bianca! BEGIN!" the announcer shouted.
"Blazemost!" Bianca shouted, hurling a massive ball of fire at Shadow.
Shadow dodged to the side and reached into his gi and withdrew three shurikens, hurling them at Bianca.
Bianca dropped down and swung her cape outward, catching the shurikens and stopping their momentum. Flipping it back, the shurikens fell from the fabric and clanged harmlessly on the ground.
From seemingly out of nowhere, Interceptor leapt at Bianca and brought her to the ground. Bianca shrieked and held her staff out, trying to push Interceptor away so that he could not bite her throat out.
As Bianca struggled to keep Interceptor at bay, Shadow approached her, blades drawn. Suddenly, the expression in his eyes changed.
"INTERCEPTOR! AWAY!" he shouted, diving to the side.
"FIREBOLT!" Bianca shouted as Interceptor leapt off her and ran.
A massive burst of flame engulfed the arena. As it cleared, Bianca was on her feet again and desperately scanning the battlefield. Suddenly, she gasped in pain and fell to the ground, several daggers protruding from her back.
Shadow approached the girl as she lay on the ground, her face contorted in pain.
"Do you yield?" he asked quietly.
Bianca nodded, tears of pain in her eyes.
Shadow shrugged and walked off, Interceptor close behind him.
