If you're looking for random insane things, you've come to the wrong place.
Go research philosophy or religion, the fun will never end. Better yet, try politics.
Going by what you're interested in, you could try for dinosaurs, Chinese mythology or maybe Ancient Egypt.
But this is a bit too vague of a question for my liking. I hope those have helped. As for where to research, yes, Meow hit the nail on the head. Wikipedia is wonderful.
