Ack! That's where I live! Stupid San Bernardino...

They've pushed ebonics around here before, and I don't think it's going to work. It only, so far, has served to reinforce class divides between blacks and other races in the same way Spanglish does.

Hopefully they'll give up on this at least a bit in the next year so they don't try to make me teach it... I just can't imagine having "ax" be one of the class key words or "shizzle" on the spelling test.

I'm not sure if I should laugh, or scream.

Looking at ebonics from a cultural/social perspective may be valid, and would certainly be valid for language graduates. Teaching ebonics, however, is the most retarded thing I have ever come across. Sure, I use l33t sp34k. Doesn't mean it should be taught in schools.

I think I'm going to laugh.

Why is it that even nowadays, people cant speak english properly?

Gone are the days of no education. There's really no excuse for not knowing proper english.

I cant believe this. So dumb. Why not there be a course so they learn english the right way, instead of us learning it the wrong?

A Ebonics lesson: "Instead of am not, use ain't. "

"Going to" >> "finna" is a better example.

America is definitely on the right track now. I hope this program reaches out to each and every school in the entire country. Thinking about my little boy coming home to say, "Yo, sup pops! Yo, dem schoolio's lunch, they be messin' they food, homie!" send tingles of excitement down my spine. And of course, I'm going to greet him with a, "You be wylin'! Did you whoop dem tricks?!"

Darn you goyabean, I was just about to quote Airplane.

And since when was ebonics considered a language? It's just a bastardization of the english language.
