While I was in Japan, I got totally addicted to J-Pop. My favourite artists are Ayumi Hamasaki, Hikaru Utada, Aiko and Bump Of Chicken.
Love it.
Don't mind it.
Hate it.

I'd rather put my head in a blender than listen to it.
Which oddly enough, is probably a similar feeling to what the high-pitched, overly-hyperactive voices of such artists do to my brain.
Bump Of Chicken?

I dont mind it but I'd rather listen to J-Rock...Gackt rules!
One time some #eoffer sent me a J-Pop song. From that day on, I vowed his death.
oh don't be stupid I wasn't going to use myself to kill him
Its Utada Hikaru and I havent much opinion of it. I like Hi Hi Puffy ami yumi though...
I like J-Pop, it's a secret enjoyment to me, but not the little annoying high pitched voiced artists, those bug me. Namie Amuro and BoA are pretty good, but BoA is from Korea. I really like Kuraki Mai, but I haven't heard much by her. Kumi Koda is pretty nice too. Utada Hikaru is good too, but don't listen to her in English. I got an album by her, that was in English, and I could only listen to a few songs because the lyrics were nausiating.
"You're easy breezy, I'm Japan-esey."
I think a piece of me died when I heard that song. God. The only really really good song off of that album was "Exodus '04" which any fan of Utada should download. I dunno how bad J-Pop song lyrics normally are, but if I don't understand them and the singer sounds good, I'm content.
As for vocals, I can hardly stand Ayumi. I like a few songs by her, but her voice is just too weird and squeaky. I think a song called Surreal by her would show a good sample of this. I dunno if I got the title wrong though.
My favourite J-pop artist would have to be Namie Amuro, she has a good voice, and she has a more unique style. I want one of her albums, but they're like, 40 dollars on Amazon.com.![]()

I have no opinion other than I hate it with every ounce of my being and in an ideal world where I was Il Duce I'd ban it's existence with a sentence of death over anyone who broke the ban. Other than than that...meh.
L'Arc-En-Cent is about as far as my j-tastes run.
