    Default Armor question

I've been something of a lurker in here for a few years now, I don't suppose anyone remembers me anymore, but I have a question nonetheless.

Replaying VII once more after a long time of no access to it, I'm trying to get the Hell Knight materia combo. I'm currently just slaying Movers to up my materia, and I was wondering if there are any triple growth armors in the game, and if not, where to find some double growth ones with a decent amount of slots.

    Thanks in advance.

If you can take the pain of two linked materia spots, one of Vincent's weapons has Triple Growth rate. I got 3 mimes that way .

    Cid has a mop?

also, where to buy rune bracers? Anyone?

Apocalypse has 3, doesn't it? I'm using Barret, Cloud and Cid right now, and only Cid has a triple weapon as of yet. I figured I'd take a break from the storyline and get ready for Ultima weapon before getting Apoc

Cid's mop has no materia slots. There is a weapon for Cid that has triple materia growth, though, and it should be the Scimitar.

The Hell Knight materia combo refers to a materia set-up that requires 16 slots (the maximum possible), at least 14 of which must be linked.

It looks somehting like this, as I recall:

    (Fire)=(Quadra Magic) (Fire)=(HP Absorb) (Fire)=(MP Absorb) (Fire)=(Added Cut)

(Fire)=(Magic Counter) (Fire)=(Steal as Well) (Fire)=(MP Turbo) (W-Magic) (Magic Plus)

The Fire materia are assumed to all be mastered, of course, since this would allow for repeated casting of Fire3. Ultimately, this set-up allows for Fire3 to be cast 8 times, each in conjunction with Steal as Well (8 steal attempts). Two physical attacks (Added Cut, with additional effect from W-Magic) are also included. Finally, the character absorbs HP and MP while going through with the combo.

Basically, its a common example of how using multiple types of Support Materia on a single type of Magic or Summon Materia allows for a character with excessive abilities. I'm not sure why the person who created this combination was so enamored with the Fire materia, but the overall intent and effect of Hell Knight is clear.
