Kids are okay, it just depends on whether they're parents are suitable or complete idiots. My six cousins down in Pittsburgh are a rowdy bunch. I don't know how, but the two oldest seem to be taking on some responsibility and acting like adults (even though they're not quite there yet), and dealing with their younger brothers. Though it's mostly the oldest one that deals. The second just kind of shrugs off a lot of things.
I live down the street from two of my littlest cousins. The little boy can be hyper, but when he starts doing things just to get a reaction out of me, I completely ignore him. Like when he burps for no reason. Children do need attention, but they don't need all of it. Sometimes the only way to deal with them is to ignore them.
I used to have a difficult time trying to befriend my little Hailstorm (that's what I call her), but spending time with my cousins up here helped make me a better cuz.
Yeah. Kids are great if you know how to deal. If you think kids are annoying, it's the fault of the parents (and you're incompetent).
