Proto's post was interesting. Who are you to say what is and isn't quality spam, Proto? You're a modwhore darling, not a spammer. You wouldn't know the first thing about spam if it came up and slapped you round the face.

Anyway, MAPS was a good thread. Why? Because those who participated enjoyed it very much. wankers was a good thread. Why? Because those who participated very much. Now, this does not necessarily mean they should be archived, but I will be getting to that. But it does mean you should at least treat the thread with respect.

Personally, I do not think wankers nor MAPS (I know I used to, but things change) belong in the archive. As I have said before, the fun comes in the creation, and not having a standing tribute for all the world to see. However, I will say that it would have been nice to have an opportunity to save the thread so I could look at it for future reference, and maybe you guys could've waited 30 mins before deleting it. (if anyone has it saved, I'd appreciate it if I could have it sent to me )

Anyway, we all know the archiving process is determined on what the staff's personal views on the thread are. Usually the decision to archive a thread boils down to an individual staff member. Is this fair? I don't think so. I think the general membership should have a say, especially as, let's face it, the staff don't really accurately represent the forum membership. The archive should be to the enjoyment and benefit of all members, not just the staff.

So I think that there should be a way for the members to get a thread archived. I haven't thought this through, so forgive any major errors in this, but perhaps members could nominate threads to be archived, and then the general membership could vote on it.

But really, when so many people want certain threads to be archived, what right have you got to delete them just because you don't like them? None. Jerk.
