    Default An artist/band's masterpiece

Name the masterpiece/best song by an artist, in your opinion. There are only two definite songs I can think of at the moment.

From Tori Amos' "Scarlet's Walk" album: Gold Dust

Gold Dust is amazing. It's so sad and so beautiful, and it's a very nolstagic, I love it. Scarlet's Walk was a brilliant album by Tori, her best work ever. She sang the best I've heard her sing in this song, and the lyrics are really great too. I'd recommend you all to download this song, if you do, tell me what you think of it?

    Slipknot: Vermilion

I never would have expected it from Slipknot, but this song is really beautiful, I love it. Definitely their best song ever, in my opinion. The video is also really nice.

I don't think I'll ever tire of these two songs.

I won't mention Grace Jones this time. xD

Tori Amos - A Sorta Fairytale
In my opinion, one of her best songs... EVER.
The flow is great and Tori just sounds so damn sexy. <3
I love that album too Rye.

    Sinéad O'Connor - Troy
The best song of all times (yes even better than any of Grace Jones' songs).
It's terrific, the longing lyrics and Sinéad sings in a two-range octave: soprano and a low whispering. Terrific

Yeah, Scarlet's Walk is amazing. The only other album by Tori that's almost that good is Little Earthquakes. If I got to pick two masterpieces by Tori, I'd choose Me and a Gun as my second. That songs is just... wow.

Rise Against - Like The Angel
I don't like Rise Against that much, but I love this song.

    Jupiter Sunrise - Arthur Nix
I like all of Under A Killer Blue Sky, but this song sticks out. It's peculiar. Check 'em out. Arthur Nix is on their Myspace.

    Rufio - We Exist
This song means a lot to me. I can relate with it...

    Something Corporate - Space
Probably the only song I like by them also.

This will probably lead to some controversy, but Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here.

BoB Dylan - Knockin' On Heavans Door. (and about 90% of everything else that he wrote)

I'd say Bach's absolute masterpiece is the St Matthew Passion, or maybe the Goldberg Variations

Dream Theater - A Change Of Seasons
Constantly changing which never seems to become boring or tedious to listen to. One of James LaBrie's best outputs. I even enjoy the acoustic intro.

    Pain Of Salvation - Idioglossia
Infectious chorus with some rap-like verses. I love this song.

    Zero Hour - Stratagem
The whole band contributes to the dark and haunting atmosphere, especially to this song.
    Yes.

Anyone brave enough to take a gander at Radiohead's masterpiece?

Oh, and for Coldplay, it's Shiver. (Although I really want to say Spies, too. :\)

I hope this marks the end of your "OMG MYXAMATOSIS IS THE BEST RADIOHEAD SONG EVER" phase. (j/k)

I was thinking Kid A, but I suspect we'll just end up picking whatever song we like best?
