Solution to canker sores

So, until I fabricate my MEMS structures designed to eradicate canker sores quickly and effectively, let's brainstorm how else to deal with these nuisances. What do you do to help relieve pain and discomfort associated with canker sores? Sometimes I rinse my mouth with hot salt water, sometimes I apply salt directly to the sore. I also try Listerine and sometimes Campho-Phenique. But none of them actually accelerate the healing process. :\ Any other ideas out there?
