I can justify that;
To many fanboys/fangirls
To many spin-offs.
To many people call it the best when they never tried the others.
Its sold 9,000,000 copies which to my knoweledge is more than the others. It can justify being highly rated. I feel I've played alot of RPG's and VII stands out to me as the best by far
