Here in NZ, it's usually called a cool drink, soft drink or fizzy (for the kids). I call it soft drink, but most often just say the name of the drink itself, like Fanta, or Mountain Dew, or whatever.

Bawls is a highly caffinated soda. You can probably find it at your local 7-11/conivience store. The bottle is textured so you don't drop it while your hand is shaking from the extra stimulants.
