Default Sphere Grid vs. Junction System

Which did you like better? The Sphere Grid in FFX or the Junction system in FFVIII.
I prefer the junction system. You can costumize everyone's stats to every last detail. I had everyone 9999 HP max stregnth and immune to all elemental attacks. 100 deaths junctioned to everyone's status attack and monsters were killed in one hit! Junction system combined with GF ablility is the best thing ever!!!

But...with the sphere grid...you can only up so many things at a time. Also if you run out of spheres when everyone has like, lvl 18 then what do you do?

    I love them both ^_^

It's a lot harder to get perfect stats in junctioning though. The spheregrid can be remodeled fairly quickly/easily

    materia was still the best.

I like the sphere grid btu the junction system allows such early full customization that I have to call it better (materia is the best though).

Thanks Jess1 for the awesome sig!!!

I'd have to say the Sphere Grid system is an overall better system. I didn't feel restricted by the Sphere Grid system in the least. I can't say the same for the Junction system...using junctioned spells would lower my stats. I end up missing MP every time I play FFVIII.

I like the junction system better. The sphere system seemed like a pain in the rear. But the best was the materia system.

Dammit this is a hard one. I love both the Junction System and the Sphere Grid....they both were very fun to use (along with FFVs Job System). But if i had to choose between the two then the Junction System wins by a hair

I never really understood the junction system and the Sphere Grid system was lot easier to use, so Sphere Grid by a mile.

I'd go with Junction. The sphere grid is cool and interesting, but in practice is feels a bit constraining while the junction offers some interesting customability. But thats just me.

Yeah...if you don't understand the junction system in FFVIII you're pretty much screwed.

I haven't used the materia thingy but it sounds good, I'll have to take your word for it.

For those of you who don't understand the junction thing...it takes time to get it, but once you do it's worth it. I junctioned ultima and other things to everyone's elemental defense and they absorb all elemental attacks now!!! It's kinda funny when Tiamat hurts his brain trying to spell dark flare and then you just absorb the attack.
Zell does 9999 damage in a normal attack!!
I also have a question...I never got Gilgamesh's card. What does it refine into?

Before you get into the fire cavern...you can power up shiva and quezicotl so they can learn every ability.
You have virtually unlimited customization the minute you start the game.

i like both, but i side with the Sphere Grid. Junction requires some work. i found that i need like 100 Ultimas to get my HP to 9,999, but i guess the character's level depends on how much i can boost my health.

10 Holy Wars which cast invincibility on all party members for a while (basically exactly what Angelo's Invincible Moon does)
