I beat him on my first try.. one blitz ace and a perfect attack reel.. he dies before rikku can even hit him.

like what I said in the other thread.. don't worry about the number of foes to unlock him.. you need 10 of every monster to unlock nemesis.
not 9999.. you need 99999s. try to have 255 str.if you want to beat him fast, let don tonberry karma you(stoic) to have a full overdrive then flee from battle, then go fight shinryu.
