I got to my local game shop and see the NTSC-U/C version and gaze longingly at what could be, then I just go home and play Xenogears on my chipped PSX.

Xenogears wins 'cause it's a mass of plot twists and turns, but everything gets wrapped up at the end.
The only thing I didn't like about Xenogears was that the second disk was mostly a movie. If there had been more user involvement during the story of the second disk I would have liked it more. But aside from that it's still a stellar game.
xenogears is a good game. its a whole lot better than VIII, but im only saying that because i couldnt get into VIII XDI wish I could have finished Xenogears, but I've had to restart, and I'm not happy. I'm hoping when I do finish it, it'll be great, because I'm isck of having FFVIII as my favorite RPG. =(
That's because time was running short on production, so Disc 2 had to be skimmed.
Then again, from what I hear, Xenosaga is just an extended FMV with interactive sections, so I suppose it's tit for tat.
