also I'd check there for that information icnase you have further questions.

FFXI theres the orignal version and the expansion pack. FFXI is both playable on the PC and the PS2. You would also need the USB keyboard. And it's as good as the recent releases of Final Fantasy's. *Seeing as you said recent ex)FFX FFX-2*

But really you can't compare this FF to the others because it's others....

    1. ) There is one FFXI pack and a seperate CoP pack which are expansions. Expansions generally introduce another ground breaking story that involves VanaDiel. RoZ talked about the beginning of the world and how the Zilart race was involved into shaping the world is today. Whereas Chains of Promathia is about the apocalyse that will befall VanaDiel. Along with that, a platora of Items, Quests, NM(special monsters with rare drops), modifcations, and different things are availible as well as new parts of the world to explore.

    2. ) PS2, PC, and soon Xbox360. Note: You need the old model of PS2 to play this game currently, and there are no plans to continue the game on PS2 i think due to Sony screwing the HDD over which is required to play FFXI because of the thin styled PS2 does not support it.

    3. ) Is it as good as the old FF games? That will depend largely into what you are into and if you have enough time to invest into this game. This game takes time, if you think you can play half an hour on weekends and expect to go anywhere, you wont play very long. Three to four hours minimum i say.

If you like MMORPGs you will like this game, if you like hard challenges, you will like this game, if you like story and are willing to go through a large part of the game to access and enjoy it as reward, you will like this(it IS great story, if not better than previous FFs, takes work to get there), if you are lazy and expect things to be handed to you, you will sorely be disappointed. If you want to do things alone, most of the time you will be disappointed as partying is the main focus of just about everything. All in all, if you like tough MMORPGs, and you like FFs, and have enough time you should be able to enjoy this game.

FF11 is a nice investment with no outcome finnacially(unless you own a SE stock which I will harp over your lost soul over such a porr investment).

Anyway if its your senoir year in highschool then I suggest you quit now or don't bother getting it until you get through all the work you have to get done in order to make some steps in your life.

Now the big deal about FF11 is that its a MMORPG.Which means that your gonna waste time. Now it relaly isn't wasting time if you love to fellowship with other people online and ot have fun. Such as PTing. Now I went at my own pace(Which is very slow pace.) So yeah I've been playing for a year and my highest lvled job is lvl 38.

Now I've explored a lot and spent a lot of times inventing new ways to make gil(honestly). Also questing around and doing events. Once you reach the 30s you take a long break from PTing to make gil and do events and have fun. Then you think about reaching lvl 40 and up. Very few players even make an attempt to get out of there 30s on this game. I tell you now. Once your out of your 30s and into the 40s and onward. Then you'll start to enjoy this game a lot more often.

I also want to say that if you dont have good friends or dont make good friends...it can be unfun to play like any MMO.

oh yeah friends are the #1 priority. I think its destiny to make certain friends on a MMORPG. Since there are so many players and you happen to meet this one person who you will be doing all of your missions with.

MAn me and Erikorn on pandemonium made an awesome duo when we did missions.I mean up to our rank 5 missions man it was just me and him.BTW he got a new char named Zefal.
