    Default hallelujah

hallelujah (originally by leonard cohen) is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. and has been covered so many times by so many artists.

please discuss this truly amazing song and it's various covers.

i for one overwhelmingly prefer jeff buckley's version.

    I love this song.

I prefer the Jeff Buckley cover, too. Also, k. d. Lang did a cover of it, I'm not sure if it's on one of her albums because I only heard it on a awards ceremony. It was alright, but that's probably just because I love her voice.

Leonard Cohen is a great songwriter/poet, but I still haven't really listened to all of his music yet. Mind you, I have heard a bit of his stuff, but not all. Yes I'm stupid. :/

Rufus Wainwright did an amazing job, but Jeff Buckley's will always be my favorite version.

    Signature by rubah. I think.

I heard a slurry drunk half cover played live by some 40 year old guys that thought they were 19 that I thought was pretty awesome.

it must be remembered that while wainwrights version is on the shrek ost it wasn't actually in shrek.
