steiner's thunder slash

ok ive tried thunder slash over 107 times ( i tallied on a peice of paper =.=) and it only hits enemies from the begining of the game about 1/5 of the time and nothing from anywhere past brumecia, and when i hit, it only does around 100 damage. i never had a status effect, steiner was at lvl 58-64, i had accuracy+ on, and i had ragnarok on

whats the deal with thunder slash?

dont know. i never ended up using it, even though i mastered it. imo, the only special attacks worth spending the mp on is shock. maybe a flare or doomsday sword if i used vivi.

Well, according to FFOnline it has a 0% hit rate. I've heard of it working before but only against specific monsters, and I can't remember which monsters they were.

...sounds pretty useless to me, even if it did work.

who knows. i dont even know what they were thinking when making half the ff chars like quina and aeris. some things will remain mysteries...

I haven't played FFIX in a while but I distinctly remember Thunder Slash dealing badass damage at all times and never missing. It was the main ability I used with Steiner before I got to better stuff like Shock.

So that's pretty strange.

not sure. maybe you had a special something equiped, who knows. i never had to use it. the earlier stages of the game, i was forced to use magic sword and nothing else. maybe an iai strike here and there. thats about it. when you had a good party without vivi, i used shock all the time.

I've never seen Steiner's Thunder Slash work any time I've tried it. It always misses for me.
