Thread: What if Aeris was killed by Cloud but not Sephiroth?

  1. #1

Default What if Aeris was killed by Cloud but not Sephiroth?

As far as I know, Sephiroth had at least 2 chances to kill Aeris by manipulating Cloud.

    Scene 1: Temple of Ancients
Cloud attacked Aeris after giving Black Materia to Sephiroth.

    Scene 2
: Forgotten Capital/Forgotten City (The end of Disc 1)
Cloud raised his sword (huh?) just before Aeris died stabbed by Sephiroth.

Perhaps, Cloud didn’t love Aeris, that’s why he could even be controlled by Sephiroth to kill her if possible. Then again, how could he be stopped by his comrades at that time? I bet that he somehow loves…

Discuss: What if Aeris was killed by Cloud but not Sephiroth? There are a number of possibilities, who knows?

    1) Aeris loved Cloud becasue he resembeled her ex, Zack.
    2) It wouldn't really change the game much.
    3) Jenova killed Aeris, not Sephiroth. Jenova took the form that Cloud would despise the most.

It would have made Cloud a guiltoholic maniac and made him have that much worse of a time in the Lifestream trip.

he shoulda killed aeris earlier on his own anyway. she was a waste of materia and money. and she was annoying and wanted everything her way. psh. silly ancients. however, if he did kill aeris, then holy would have never come along to stop meteor. aeris was summoning holy, but then sephiroth killed her and he was blocking holy himself. after sephiroth died, holy was free from sephiroths grasp, and made its way to meteor. if aeris was killed earlier then the meteor would have made just as much of a dent in the world as sephiroth wanted, letting sephiroth achieve his goal. and cloud was never fully posessed, he fought it as much as he could and made it hard for sephiroth to posess him. or something like that.

aeris sucked as a team member anyway.

I think that Marlene should never have existed and that instead, Aeris was the light that made Barret anything but a maniac with gun-arm. Then later, after Barret develops "feelings" for Aeris, she is not killed but transformed into a younger (child) version of herself and he is forced to discard his romantic feelings to care for her more as his daughter. Meh.

Oh! I see. Nonetheless, we assume that Aeris was killed by Cloud this time. It doesn’t really matter who actually killed Aeris.

I’m more interested on what will become of Cloud thereafter. Will Cloud attempt suicide to atone for his action? Will he become a confirmed bachelor? Basically, we’re going to talk about his would-be changed personalities and complicated relationship with the others.

I wish you will play as Cloud on the situation mentioned. What’s your reaction then? It’s a role-play game after all.

If I was Cloud, I’d have died during the battle with Jenova Life (because I’d already given up hope, or possibly I was shot by furious Barret). Or else, I'd have chosen to commit suicide, and leave the rest to my realiable comrades... RIP

If i was Cloud, i woulda been happy for myself that i finally was able to kill off an unnecessary team member. then i would be like "oh, crap, we better prevent meteor from being summoned" (assuming that i killed aeris before meteor was summoned) and the rest of the party would agree with me. they'd be like yeah alright sweet aeris is dead whoo! and now we can go kill sephiroth easier because she won't be in the way making us do stupid chores and making us waste time by trying to get her strong and get her freaking level 4 limit break! then we'd all be off to kill sephiroth before he could summon meteor. sure, the game wouldn't be as long and eventful, but it gets the job done. but if i could REALLY control the game, i woulda killed off aeris and recruited Sephiroth as my team member. this is how it would go:

Sephy: hey... you guys killed aeris?
    me (cloud): yeah. she sucked.
Sephy: I KNOW RIGHT! i was gonna kill her later but u guys did it already! sweet!
me: really? awesome! hey you wanna join our party? we're pretty much invincible now that aeris isn't holding us back and isn't making me dress up like a girl!
Sephy: yeah definitely!! the only reason i was going to summon meteor was to kill aeris anyway.
me: hah! that's crazy! you shouldn't waste ur meteor on HER!
Sephy: you're right. now i've been meaning to ask something...
    me: yeah...?
Sephy: Tifa, are those REAL?! O_O

    hooray for tifa's boobage!

I hope you’re not kidding. I see. You’re very fond of Sephiroth; that’s why you don’t understand he’s your ultimate enemy, and you even wanted to recruit him. Even though you knew the story well, you weren’t able to appreciate the game, esp. character development. I’m not saying you must completely become like them, just hope that we can play as them. The important thing is to mimic their actual characteristics so that to experience the role-play games better; btw, costume play & battle are just kid stuff. I like kid stuff though.

Possible, it depends on the actions of Cloud. If you're Cloud, what'll you do? And, it has nothing to do with the actual game play.

We assume that Aeris was killed by you (ie Cloud), so she died already.BTW, I think Barret would never ever in love with Aeris, so no father-daughter relationship betweem them. Just my opinion.

ps: We have no business talking about character's battle parameter here.

Well, that was just MY opinion. If Square's writers had actually written the story that way, then you wouldn't, nay couldn't, dare to refute it. It's not like we're actually suggesting a re-write here. I was just bein' funny.

My original point actually was that I'd have enjoyed having Aeris around if she were more like Eiko (but not as pushy, damn she can be such a brat), or better yet, more like Lilka from Wild Arms 2.

It would have been a beautiful twist. I wonder if in the upcoming games Square-Enix will be willing to push the characters to such a limit.

lol maybe they should make another ffvii and change the story line by having someone kill aeris. or at least add a bonus feature at the end or something that'll show out brief summaries of what would happen if another character killed off aeris. it'd be pretty funny, i think.

I understand, but not Barret, please, or else I jump off from a hundred-floor building. (I like Eiko, but know nothing about Lilka. heh)

I hope so, and in exchange for some battle features. totally, role-play game!

Then I'd recommend either Hojo or Corneo.... you get what I mean? Hojo and Corneo!!
