Robin Cook died yesterday whilst hill walking, near the summit of Ben Stack. Though flown to hospital, he didn't make it.
This is sad news for Britain, and the world. Though I did not necessarily agree with him on policies, I can say he is one of the very few politicians I know of who had the integrity and honesty we should demand of every single one of them. Despite my support for the War in Iraq, his resignation over the matter gained great respect from me, and from many others in the nation. It showed he was truly commited and convinced in his beliefs, and that's something far too few politicians have the backbone for.
He will be missed.

He had qualities we rarely see in most politicians nowadays - integrity backed by fierce resolve to approach with honest commitment to his policies.Though he had his fair share of enemies in his career, I daresay he'll be missed by most.
His death really is a shame, especially since he was still in his fifties. He was a politician who you could really respect, and he'll be missed.

An excellent politician, his carrear was limited by the fact he was so inteligent his inteligence daunted others thus he failed to charm fellow Mp's into supporting him for any leadership bid.
