Ragnarok Online CDROM

I am trying to get my friend (Ansem) into playing RO with me. I gave him a CDROM with RO software on it, the problem was I think it was a year old. He tried to install it and download patches for it but the patch server wouldn't connect to him (according to what he told me over the phone). So I need to know a few things on this matter.

Is there a site that gives out updated RO software CDs?
or
Is there a way to compress a file that's about 915 Megabytes big so it'll be about 700 so I can burn it to a CDR?

As for burning, I find it easier if I use a 'file splitter' perferably one that has a .exe included which joins them again.
