This time I like to go around with Squall, Quistis and Rinoa.
For me it's: Squall, Sephie and Zell. Stuck with them from the beginning SeeD Mission when Seifer Runs off...
I had Squall, Zell, Rinoa the first time I played the game, just to keep Rinoa with Squall, but in the end it appeared to be pretty good to have Quistis, Squall and Selphie in your team. Two healers, Quistis with White Wind and Guardian and Selphie with full-cure, and one very good attacked with 255 STR and a constant Aura cast on him. Nothing can survive this, accept Omega which is still not beaten.
Right now it's Squall, Quistis, and Selphie, but then again the only other choice is zell. And no thankyou.
In my game 2 disc 3 save, it's rinoa, squall and selphie.
Basically Rinoa and Squall and whoever wants to help.
I used to use Squall Rinoa and Zell i think... and then i got really really sick of rinoa (not just as a fighter, i just happen to not like her) and i always liked quistis as a character but not a fighter, and selphie....i didn't like her as either. and even tho irvine made me mad at times i decided to use him and zell and squall. this makes me feel like a woman hater lol... but i'm NOT, so it's okay. and i use them every once in awhile if i'm jus playin around. Squall is my only good fighter anyway lol, i guess i just don't take good care of my team.

The decent team most picked for FFVIII was always Squall, Zell and Rinoa.
Towelboy: Holy Cramoley, Poolman! It´s the devious Flashing Fiend with his abilities of extreme, evil, regretful imagery! How do we stop him?

Squall- For his physical damage (mine had 255 str since about middle of disk 1, killed Ifrit with 1 trigger-hit (with punishment at that point), and ~8000 damage vs. X-ATM092 (beat him 8 or so times and got Mag+(bonus) with Siren there)).
Rinoa- Angel Wing in very powerful (ex. meteor does about 7000-8000/hit), and angelo sometimes revives/recovers/counters and has invincible moon (and I should also mention Wishing Star!)
Selphie- Full Cure, Wall, Rapture, THE END (once she used it on lvl. 10!), AND she gets 255% hit with Strange Vision (which is quite simple to get and proves very useful vs. cactuars)

Squall, Zell, Selphie. I just liked the trio.
Squall, Quistis, and Irvine, simply because those are the only characters I actually like.
Every time i play i use a different team but my favorite is probably Squall, Quistis and Selphie
i used sqall rinoa and zell in my party.in my first game i used sqall zell and irvine but irvine wasnt very good so in my second game i replaced him with rinoa.

i just used whoever at first, then i discover when junctioned corectly zell can do over 100,000 with his limit breaker used correctly. I also used Rinoa, with high strength angelo can do a lot of damage, not to mention make your party literally invincible.

As if it really matters, the only thing that makes each player unique is their limit break. I didnt use selphie and she was lvl 4 towards the end of the game where all my guys were top lvls. I gave her some magic to junction and she became the best. Stupid.
