    Why is HTML not allowed in PMs and usernotes?

    and barring that, why is vB code not allowed in usernotes.

    I always assumed it was because the mods couldn't check every single usernote, and didn't want people mucking about in them. I really have no idea.

    Yes. It is to keep you from posting porn in your user notes, and other annoying images. People were abusing this ability by posting dumb images so it was taken away.

    I don't know why HTML is not in pms, though. I also find it irritating.

    Same reason there's no vbcode in usernotes as far as I remember. At least you have vbcode in PMs for stuff like images etc

    I know phpBB allows you to prohibit certain HTML tags(such as < img> and < a href). vB3 surely can do that much, so it'd be possible to use bold, italics, underline, strike-through, etc. in HTML since vB code sucks.
