The real question is, why would you want to? Chances are you're only going to see it for a minute before you start playing FFXI or Tetramaster [lol], and on the rare occaision you want to do anything else with the POL Viewer, the background changes constantly anyway.
I'm sure there is a way to do it though, but it's certainly not worth the time to find out.

POL has wallpapers?
Yeah there is i think its on the options menu too, select one of them and press OK. It helps when i am msging and not playing.
I keep hoping there'll be a DWVIII wallpaper section up there one day...
