    Default Which is better?

For all of us who studied WW2.We noticed that after the two atomic bombs were dropped. HArdcore japaneese officers still wanted war!!!.

Okay now. very few know that. They came to their sense and surrendered to the Americans because the Russians would've invaded them(Who would really want to be under Stalin's iron grip anyway?).

Anyway can you agree with me or disagree with me on this.

(waits for everyone to disagree or completely disregard his statement).

    Both.

I agree that dropping the bomb stopped massive invasion which would of cost lives, however the japenese would of never won the war. Thier supplies were short handed and they were really sitting ducks in the geographic possiotion. The japanese invasions of thier island bases and there mainland would of realy costed a toll to our forces. I guess you can ask a military men, if he would rather die or see women and children massacured in one blast - most military morality would take the sacraficial route.

I also think the bomb was the worst mistake ever. I am never for the killing of innocence. It is one thing to take out bomb producing factories and such - but an entire city? - that is going too far.

something like 15( maybe less, I saw this on the History channel awhile back, some crazy number like that though) years after V-J day, there were still Japanese soldiers on small islands all over the pacific. No one bothered to tell them the war was over. The Japanese then had to send peace squads to find these guys and let them know. Some of them thought it was an allied trick to get them to surrender. Now THOSE were some hardcore Japanese soldiers!

Yeah but thats war my friend lol they also did some bombings in tokyo and destroyed 80% of the city.a survivor said it happen when she was 8.(she is the same age as my grandfather).

The japaneese leaders wer ejsut soo die-hard they were willing to sacrifice civilians to stand strong lol. With the americans and the Russians putting pressure on them. The thing also was everyone was getting tired of the war.. I mean we get tired of wars and we want them to end as fast as possible. But back then though the world was completely different. We were just seeing a taste of modern warfare. I think right now warfare is at its most brutalist.

Also think aobut if we did invade the mainland of japan. Man oyu already know how the russians fiht(they had the most casualties.). Now imagine 1 million americans dead from that initial invasion. 4 Japaneese soldier's died out of 1 USA soldier.

lol .The bombs and soviet preassure just collapse Japan and like any defeated nation. To make sure things changed. They dismanteled the military.(which was nescessary for Japan's society to change..)Oh btw the chemical dempartment of the US military were going to mustard gas a number of cities. Those would've been some crazy numbers. To think about it. It really was the choice of the lesser of two evils.

I don't understand what you're trying to ask. Do you want us to agree or disagree with the fact that the Japanese didn't want to be under Russian rule? Because I'm pretty sure no country wants to be ruled by another.

If this is a debate on the morality of nuking Hiroshima, which it as turned into, then:

Yes, but it was locked by the mods. Some genius decided to continue the conversation.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.

He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.

Who cares how hardcore the enemy is and was. Even in war you must live up to your own morals. The moment you loose yourself - you loose the war.

It does make good sence. Not saying that war doesn't change people, but it should not change your morals. We value the lives of innocence, namly women and children, yet to make the war easy we wipe out a couple cities. I don't think war should ever come to that. Look how hard we fight to protect in Iraq - I admire that in us.
